KINGDOM OF BAHRAIN CLIENT: Housing and Urban Development Committee While under contract with Dar Al Handasah (Shair & Partners), Jeffrey was the Landscape Core Team Leader for the Landscape Concept Design and Detailed Design Packages for the North Bahrain New Town Project. The North Bahrain New Town Project was a new town development located off the north-west coast of the Kingdom of Bahrain, with development to take place over 17 new island masses. Individual landscape design solutions were prepared for each island based upon the proposed urban design characteristics plus the proposed land uses within each island. A continuous waterfront open space ringed each island with the proposed design varying from formal promenades and plaza spaces to linear parks based upon a combination of the islands engineered design edges of either revetment of beaches and adjacent urban land use. Road / streetscape hard and soft landscapes were based on a repetition of a modular design derived from the road hierarchy and road verge pavement material selection. Extents and types of softscape materials used was based upon calculations of available TSE water and peak summer water demand for each planting type. Jeff's role as the Project Manager included:
