AQUA MALL, BIEN HOA CITY
DONG NAI PROVINCE, VIETNAM CLIENT: Nova Land Jeffrey Allott was the contracted Associate Director (Landscape) leading the concept design, detaialed design and construction documentation for the entirety of the external works for this Shopping and Entertainment Mall located in Aqua City, a district of Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. Aqua Mall is the entertainment hub of the new developed Aqua City and the Mall provides for a combination of food and beverage outlets, retail space plus a multi-screen cinema complex. Key to the design was the resolution of the vehicular entry and exit circulation, the car parking and motorbike parking areas to ensure there is minimal conflict with the pedestrian movement into and out of both the Mall Building and the entire site. By raising the building floor level above the external site areas, it was possible to provide a separation of the pedestrian circulation to the exterior of the Mall Building with the adjacent carparking. The plant palette selected is a combination of palm trees at the main building entries with canopy and shade trees to the carparks and site boundaries, plus colourful shrubs and groundcovers as the understory planting throughout the site.
