YIN RESIDENCE,
BUNDALL, QLD CLIENT: Anthony & Jiyoung Yin Terrene Craft International was engaged to prepare the landscape master plan works the newly constructed Yin Residence. The design works consisted of providing a sense of entry and arrival at the house, completing the circulation link around the house which included resolving changes in level and completing pathway surface finishes coordination plus a planting design to a very specific plant type palette determined by the client. The planting design has been designed to predominantly showcase a range of succulent type plant material. Small trees have been sited in the front of the house and to the pool deck, while screen hedges have been sited along the side boundaries where planting room permits. Vines have been used along boundary fences in defined locations to "soften" those particular fence lines. Stepping stones have been proposed to be placed in turf areas at critical areas of passage to prevent high levels of wear to the turf. Additionally, a small set of stairs consisting of three risers is proposed adjacent to the pool pump equipment to allow for a change in level along the northern property boundary. A stone revetment treatment exists at the rear of the property between the pool deck and the pathway along the canal edge. In order to soften the appearance of this boulder bank, it is proposed that a number of the smaller boulders be removed and replaced with a trailing groundcover in soil pockets. TCI also undertook landscape materials selection with the client and provided a Landscape Construction Budget Estimate for the client. |
